The General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan has begun verifying information about former government officials mentioned in the materials of the Jeffrey Epstein case. This was announced by Berik Asylov, the head of the supervisory agency.

According to Asylov, "we are checking all the facts related to the mentioned individuals," adding that the work is being conducted both by the Prosecutor General's Office and other relevant authorities.

As part of the preliminary investigation, the cases of former Prime Minister and former head of the National Security Committee Karim Massimov, as well as former head of the National Bank Kairat Kelimbetov, are being reviewed.

“We have started a preliminary investigation. In particular, we are finding out whether Epstein visited Kazakhstan, and it will also be checked whether Kelimbetov traveled abroad,” Asylov reported.

Earlier, deputies of the Mazhilis appealed to the special services with a request to investigate possible connections between Kazakh officials and Epstein, as indicated in recently disclosed materials.

According to the provided data, Karim Massimov's name is mentioned in the records at least eight times, and it is also claimed that Epstein and Kelimbetov "vacationed together."

We remind you that in April 2023, Massimov was sentenced to 18 years in prison on charges of treason and attempted seizure of power.

In November 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump signed a law requiring the publication of all materials related to the Epstein case.

Allegations of connections with Epstein involve both Democrats and Republicans, and the published data mention dozens of political figures, businessmen, and entertainment industry representatives from various countries.
