At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Ulan Primov raised the pressing issue of the need to protect Lake Issyk-Kul, which is considered a true gem of Kyrgyzstan.

He noted that the water level in the lake continues to decline each year.

“According to data provided by the media, previously about 80 rivers flowed into the lake, but now their number has decreased to around 35. This raises serious concerns. It is important to take immediate measures to protect and preserve Issyk-Kul; perhaps it is worth creating a separate institution to address this issue. If actions are not taken now, Kyrgyzstan may face a serious ecological disaster in the future,” emphasized Ulan Primov.
