The government has decided to keep strategic resources in the country
A temporary ban on the export of used catalysts and waste containing precious metals has been introduced by the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan. This decision is aimed at preventing the illegal export of valuable materials and protecting strategic raw materials within the country.
According to the new decree, the export will be banned for a period of six months:
- used catalysts;
- slags, ashes, and other waste containing metals, intended solely for further processing;
- residues of palladium, rhodium, and platinum obtained during the processing of catalysts;
- exhaust system components (mufflers and pipes) if they contain catalysts.
The Ministries of Economy and Commerce, as well as Foreign Affairs, must notify the WTO, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the Executive Committee of the CIS about the introduction of this ban within three days.
The previous decree regarding a similar ban, adopted on September 8, 2025, has lost its validity.
The document will come into effect in seven days.
