The Minister of Energy announced an increase in the capacity of the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Station
Ibraev noted that four units of the station have been modernized under a financial assistance program from the Asian Development Bank.
“Previously, the capacity of the Toktogul HPP was 1200 megawatts, and now it has increased to 1440 megawatts, which means an addition of 60 megawatts to each unit,” the minister said.
In addition, he reported that the funds saved from the ADB will be directed towards the rehabilitation of the Uch-Kurgan HPP.
“We plan to complete the repair of two units by the end of the year, which will allow us to add another 18 megawatts. In total, the electricity production will be increased by 36 megawatts across the four units,” added Talaybek Ibraev.
