In an interview with the publication VB.KG, Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), commented on the current situation regarding the blocking of TikTok and the ongoing monitoring of social networks. He noted that no digital platform can prevail over the moral and psychological well-being of the youth.
Shabdanbekov emphasized that the control over social networks is aimed at detecting the propaganda of drugs, violence, and extremism. Regarding TikTok, he explained that the decision to block it was made due to the presence of content that "does not align with Kyrgyz mentality" and negatively affects the development of children. The GKNB intends to continue active measures to suppress the spread of destructive information on the internet.
