In Kyrgyzstan, the authorities have decided to abandon the practice of high-profile arrests and PR stunts in the fight against crime and corruption. This was stated in an interview with VB.KG by Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, the new head of the State National Security Committee (GKNB).
Shabdanbekov emphasized that the agency will now operate in accordance with the directives of President Sadyr Japarov, focusing on professionalism and calmness in its actions.
“Secrecy is the essence of the special service, and methods of intimidation are a thing of the past. We will concentrate on anti-corruption policy, adhering to procedural norms and ensuring the inevitability of punishment without unnecessary noise,” he noted.
