Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, the new head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), stated in an interview with a local publication: “There will be no untouchables in government agencies, including the GKNB. Anyone found guilty of illegal actions will be held accountable.”
He also commented on recent arrests, noting that all those responsible have already been removed from their positions and excluded from the national security structure. The public will be informed about the legal assessment of their actions.
“The State Committee will continue the fight against corruption and organized crime exclusively through legal methods, without so-called 'mask shows,'” added Shabdanbekov.

According to him, the main goal of the GKNB reform is to adapt to modern threats and challenges, enhance intelligence and counterintelligence operations, combat terrorism and extremism, eradicate corruption, and counter organized crime. Increasing the prestige of the structure, centralizing management, and strengthening state power will also be a priority.
“We intend to create a structure capable of competing with the special services of other countries,” concluded Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov.
