Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, and his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held telephone negotiations, as reported by the administration of the President of Kyrgyzstan.
The initiative for the conversation came from the Kazakh side.
During the discussion, key issues concerning the current agenda were addressed. Among the topics were constitutional reform in Kazakhstan, as well as the implementation of agreements in the areas of trade, transport, industrial cooperation, energy, and water resource management. Additionally, regional and international issues were considered.
Japarov expressed his support for Tokayev in the process of constitutional changes taking place in Kazakhstan, including the establishment of a unicameral parliament, and wished him success in the upcoming nationwide referendum.
