President Sadyr Japarov, in an interview with the Kabar agency, reported on the pressure that some deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh faced, referring to the name of the "general".
According to the president, certain groups of deputies summoned parliamentarians and posed the question of allegiance: "whose side are you on," creating a confrontation between the "general's side" and the "president's side".
Japarov emphasized that if he had not taken decisive measures in time, it could have negatively affected ordinary citizens, and society would have split into two opposing factions. He noted that he has evidence of the intimidation of deputies and civil servants using the name of the "general". They were threatened with words: "If you do not switch to our side, you will face the general," the president added.
Furthermore, he reported that such actions began to extend beyond the parliament: signatures were being collected on the streets for early elections, claiming that this was allegedly "agreed at a high level".
