The President commented on the resignation of Kamchybek Tashiev
In an interview with the National Information Agency Kabar, President Sadyr Japarov detailed his decision regarding the resignation of Kamchybek Tashiev, as well as the situation related to the "letter from 75 people." He noted that this step was necessary to ensure stability in the country.
Reasons for Tashiev's resignation
According to the president, in 2021, citizens entrusted him with the management of the country, and the Constitution obliges him to care for the integrity of the state and the unity of the people.
“The interests of the country and the people must always come first, above personal ambitions and friendships,” he emphasized.
Sadyr Japarov mentioned that initially, tension arose in the Jogorku Kenesh, where some deputies began to divide their colleagues into "us" and "them."
“Some groups of deputies started asking questions: ‘Are you with us or with them?’ There were talks about the ‘general’s side’ and the ‘president’s side,’” the president stated.
Later, this division spread beyond the parliament—some elders began to collect signatures for early elections, claiming that everything was allegedly agreed upon "from above."
The president also reported that he has facts of pressure on deputies and civil servants:
“Some people intimidated: ‘If you don’t switch to our side—you will face the general.’ If I hadn’t taken measures, the split could have affected ordinary citizens, so I was forced to act,” he explained.
Before the resignation, Sadyr Japarov personally contacted Kamchybek Tashiev:
“I called my friend, explained the situation, and informed him that I was relieving him of his duties. I believe that this quick decision protected him, as there were ‘elders’ around him who were leading him astray,” the president added.
The head of state noted that some individuals, using Tashiev's name, tried to convince deputies and civil servants to switch “to the general’s side.” He also emphasized that without his decision, the situation could have worsened and led to a split in society.
Responding to rumors about the existence of “Japarov’s teams” and “Tashiev’s teams,” the president stated:
“Personnel appointments are not divided into teams. Each appointment undergoes strict scrutiny.”
He also dispelled rumors about possible agreements regarding the terms of his presidency, noting that Kyrgyzstan is a democratic country, and governance is determined by the people, not a narrow group of individuals.
Regarding the “letter from 75 people”
As for the “letter from 75 people,” Sadyr Japarov reported that investigative actions are currently underway to determine how serious this matter is and how many people are involved.
The departure of the Speaker of Parliament
Regarding the departure of the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, the president noted that this decision should not be directly linked to the letter. He suggested that Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu may have succumbed to the influence of certain individuals or felt responsible for the division among deputies.
Reform of the GKNB
The president also announced plans to reform the GKNB, emphasizing that the special services must adapt to modern challenges:
“The state is a living organism. We must update our institutions in accordance with changes in the world.”
Speaking about possible abuses by law enforcement officials, Sadyr Japarov noted that illegal actions are not covered up in the country. Those responsible will be held accountable, as everyone is equal before the law.
On personal relations with Tashiev
When asked about his personal relationship with Kamchybek Tashiev, the president said:
“Our friendship will remain strong. I made this decision for the peace and unity of our people.”
Finally, Sadyr Japarov assured that the fight against corruption and crime will continue, and work in this direction is being carried out around the clock.
