A new speaker will be elected today
The question of appointing a new speaker became relevant immediately after Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu announced his resignation.
Deputy Nilufer Alimjanova expressed the opinion that discussing this issue at the moment is inappropriate from a moral standpoint and suggested postponing it to a later date. As a result, the deputies agreed to take a break for further discussion.
Currently, the deputy groups "Adilet Kyrgyzstan," "Ala-Too," "Ata-Jurt," "Mekenchil," and "Eldik" are organizing their separate meetings for consultations and proposing possible candidates.
Erlan Kokulov, a deputy, also addressed the future speaker with a request not to turn off the microphones of the parliamentarians, even if their speeches are uncomfortable, and to allow them to ask questions to members of the cabinet without protection from their side.
