Today, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev reported on new tightening of penalties for grazing livestock on winter crops.

During the meeting, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev raised the issue of the area allocated for winter crops and whether this volume is sufficient to meet the country's needs.

According to Torobaev, 257 thousand hectares were processed in the fall, and in the spring, it is planned to cover 885 thousand hectares.

The deputy also noted that it is more difficult to care for winter crops, as many farmers graze livestock on these fields during the winter period, which causes serious damage to the harvest.

“The existing fines, which amount to only 2-3 thousand soms, have not scared people. How can we solve this problem?” he asked.

In response, Bakyt Torobaev stated that the government has already adopted the relevant resolution, and now the Ministry of Internal Affairs will monitor the situation. “Farmers who violate the rules for the first time will face a fine for grazing livestock on the fields, and upon repeated violations, their livestock will be confiscated,” he added.
