As indicated by a source in the publication, this will be the first session of the "Council of Peace," as well as a conference dedicated to fundraising for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
The meeting is planned to be held at the U.S. Institute of Peace. The administration of Donald Trump began engaging with numerous countries last week, inviting their leaders to participate in the summit.
Preparations for the event are in the early stages, so changes to the plans are possible, Axios reports, adding that representatives of the White House declined to comment.
On January 22 of this year, U.S. President Donald Trump officially announced the establishment of the "Council of Peace" during a charter signing ceremony at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The document was signed by representatives of 19 states.
The "Council of Peace" was created in accordance with an agreement between Israel and the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, aimed at governing the Gaza Strip. It is also tasked with preventing and resolving conflicts in other regions.
