Today, February 2, the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic was supposed to consider the defense motion for journalist Mahabat Tajibek kyzy from the "Ait ait dese" project regarding the resumption of proceedings in light of newly discovered circumstances. However, the hearing did not take place, and this information was confirmed by the press service of the Supreme Court, as reported by Kaktus.media.

The reason for the postponement was the large volume of materials related to the case that require more thorough examination. The new date for the hearing has been set for March 3 at 11:00 AM.

We remind you that Mahabat Tajibek kyzy was detained in January 2024 along with ten employees of Temirov Live on charges of inciting mass unrest. On February 25, 2025, the judicial panel of the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan reviewed the appeal of three out of eleven detained journalists and upheld the decisions of the lower courts: Tajibek kyzy was sentenced to six years in prison, Azamat Ishenbekov to five years, and Aika Beishikeeva was placed on probation for three years. Aktilek Kaparov was also released from imprisonment, receiving a three-year probation, and he did not appeal this decision. The other seven participants in the case were acquitted due to lack of evidence of a crime.

Thus, on February 2, the Supreme Court was to decide on the advisability of considering the defense motion of journalist Mahabat Tajibek kyzy for the resumption of the case.
