In 2026, the CSTO will focus on strengthening the combat potential of its Collective Forces by equipping them with the latest reconnaissance systems, electronic warfare means, and unmanned aerial vehicles. The Secretary General of the CSTO, Taalatbek Masadykov, shared plans for combat training in an interview with the publication "Allies. CSTO".
Special attention will be paid to exercises on the western borders of the Organization.
“In October of this year, a command-staff exercise with Peacekeeping Forces called 'Unbreakable Brotherhood – 2026' will take place on the territory of the Republic of Belarus. We will also coordinate efforts to prevent biological threats. In the same month, a special exercise 'Barrier-2026' aimed at eliminating biological threats in the interests of the collective peacekeeping forces will be held in Belarus,” Masadykov noted.
In addition, Masadykov added that joint military exercises "Interaction", "Search", "Echelon", and "Frontier" will be held in the traditional format.
