The Kyrgyz Republic has established diplomatic relations with 185 countries around the world. This became known at a meeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the results of the work for 2025 were summarized and the main tasks for 2026 were outlined.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, who noted the significant achievements made in the past year. He emphasized that the most important political success of 2025 was the resolution of issues regarding the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.

“We have now established diplomatic relations with 185 countries, and our first embassy has opened on the African continent. Over the past year, 190 events were held and 633 international agreements were signed,” he added.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the need to work on practical solutions in areas such as multimodal transportation, digital logistics, and transport connectivity, as well as promoting projects in wind and solar energy and small hydropower plants. Attracting investments in large tourism initiatives is also important.

“Our country's presidency in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and preparations for the summit, which will take place in Bishkek in 2026, are of particular significance. It is necessary to continue efforts to promote Kyrgyzstan's candidacy for a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028,” he noted, giving a number of important instructions.
