Adylbek Kasymaliev announced the key achievements of 2025
At a meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, attended by Adylbek Kasymaliev, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration, the results of work for 2025 were summarized and the main tasks for the current year were outlined.
In his address, Kasymaliev highlighted a number of significant achievements, noting that the most important political success of 2025 was the resolution of issues concerning the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
“Diplomatic relations were established with 185 countries, including the opening of our first embassy on the African continent. Over the year, 190 events took place, and 633 international agreements were signed,” he added.
Additionally, Kasymaliev reminded that this year marks five years since Sadyr Japarov took office as president.
“Comparing the current situation in the country with 2020 shows significant progress; it is essentially like night and day. Many important projects have been implemented, and the consolidated budget in 2025 reached a historic level, exceeding 1 trillion soms,” he noted.
The head of government listed the factors that contributed to the budget growth: economic growth, with the country's GDP increasing from $8.3 billion in 2020 to over $22.6 billion in 2025; improved tax administration, with tax revenues increasing fourfold; customs revenues growing sixfold; non-tax revenues rising 8-9 times; economic activation, especially in construction, trade, services, agriculture, and industry; and rising global gold prices, with revenues from “Kumtor” exceeding $5 billion.
He also emphasized the importance of developing practical solutions in the areas of multimodal transport, digital logistics, and transport connectivity, supporting projects in wind and solar energy, as well as small hydropower plants, and attracting investments in large tourism projects.
“Moreover, Kyrgyzstan's presidency in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and preparations for the summit to be held in Bishkek in 2026 are of great significance. It is necessary to continue the work of the Ministry in promoting the candidacy of the Kyrgyz Republic for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2027-2028,” he concluded, giving a number of instructions to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
