Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that in recent years, the country's defense capabilities have significantly strengthened. The budget of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic has increased by more than 300% compared to 2018–2019. These funds are primarily directed towards strengthening the material and technical base, updating weapons and equipment, as well as developing the infrastructure of military units and garrisons. Modern samples of military equipment have been purchased, including air defense systems and electronic warfare systems.
The head of the government added that the Ministry of Defense has successfully completed the first stage of digitalization, which has allowed for the optimization of document flow and the accounting of civilian personnel and military personnel. Currently, a pilot electronic military accounting system has been implemented in five military enlistment offices, and by March of this year, it will be implemented in another 25 offices. The process of digitalizing military IDs has also begun.
In addition, the chairman of the cabinet of ministers spoke about measures of social support for military personnel. In particular, the daily compensation for housing rent in Bishkek has been increased to 500 soms, and in the regions to 420 soms; military personnel are provided with a monthly compensation for mortgage housing of 18,000 soms for the capital and 15,000 soms for the regions; those who have served for more than 20 years will receive compensation until the mortgage is fully paid off; regardless of their place of service, they can purchase mortgage housing in a location convenient for them; through the State Mortgage Company, more than 900 apartments for military personnel of the Ministry of Defense, which are in the final stages of construction, will be provided soon.
