Toraga: The principles of transparency and freedom of speech will be strictly adhered to in the Jogorku Kenesh

The meeting of the Coordination Council of the Jogorku Kenesh, held today, January 19, under the leadership of Speaker Nurlanbek Turghunbek uulu, gathered vice-speakers, heads of deputy groups, committee chairpersons, and staff of the parliament.
Turghunbek uulu emphasized the importance of the Jogorku Kenesh as a key branch of power in Kyrgyzstan. He noted that "the implementation of necessary reforms and bills is impossible without their prior discussion in parliament. Nominations for high positions must also go through the Jogorku Kenesh." According to him, this requires a careful approach where each branch of power understands its functions and responsibilities.

The Speaker stressed that the relevant committees are obliged to thoroughly work out bills before they are submitted for general voting.

In addition, Nurlanbek Turghunbek uulu assured that the principles of openness and freedom of speech will be strictly adhered to in the Jogorku Kenesh. He added that deputies will be able to freely express their opinions on any issues, and all parliamentary sessions will be broadcast live to a wide audience.
