Among the most serious challenges to national security is the rapid spread of destructive ideas. As Kurbanov noted, the virtual space has become the main channel through which ideological influence is exerted on the population.

“Social networks and other online platforms have become the primary sources for the dissemination of destructive ideas, which negatively impacts the religious atmosphere in the country,” emphasized the Chairman of the SSS.

Traditional threats also include international terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal arms trade, and smuggling of goods, which continue to pose serious cross-border risks.

To counter these threats, comprehensive work is being carried out to strengthen the borders. On the sections of the border with Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, 453 kilometers of protective structures have been built, 287 kilometers of border roads have been laid, and 44 modern electronic alarm systems have been installed. According to Kurbanov, thanks to these measures, the number of border violations has been reduced by one and a half times.
