In Kyrgyzstan, the requirements for the arrangement of SEZ are being softened

The government of Kyrgyzstan has presented for public discussion a draft amendment to the resolution concerning the requirements for free economic zones. These amendments pertain to the document adopted on June 16, 2014, under number 332.

According to the innovations, it is planned to expand the list of materials permitted for use in the arrangement and fencing of free economic zones. In addition to metallurgical structures, concrete, and barbed wire, "other materials" will also be allowed, which must be approved by customs authorities. The developers believe that this will enable investors and designers to implement modern technologies and reduce infrastructure costs.

An exception is also proposed: the requirements for the placement of protected facilities will not apply in the territories of the FEZs intended for tourism and attracting investments.

As the government emphasizes, the main goal of this initiative is to create more flexible conditions for the functioning of free economic zones, which should enhance the attractiveness of the regions for foreign investors and accelerate the implementation of new projects.
