The diplomatic agency expressed deep concern regarding the current situation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan made an official statement regarding the recent incident involving tankers in the Black Sea. The information was posted on the agency's website.

In its statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan expressed serious alarm over the attacks that occurred on January 13, 2026, using unmanned aerial vehicles against three tankers heading to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) marine terminal.

In this regard, during meetings with ambassadors from several European countries, as well as representatives from the USA and other international partners, it was emphasized that effective measures must be taken to ensure the safety of hydrocarbon transportation, including via maritime routes, in strict accordance with international law.

The statement also noted that the Republic of Kazakhstan does not participate in armed conflicts, actively contributes to global and European energy security, and ensures stable energy resource supplies in accordance with international standards. It is important to note that the tankers had all the necessary permits and were equipped with identification systems.

The increasing number of such incidents highlights the growing risks to international energy infrastructure. In this context, Kazakhstan calls on its partners for closer cooperation to develop joint measures aimed at preventing such incidents in the future," added the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Erlan Zhetybaev.
