The deputy called for strict rules for scooter usage

At a recent meeting of the parliament, Buru Amanova, a deputy, proposed the introduction of strict rules for scooter users. This discussion took place within the framework of the draft law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic on Ensuring Road Safety."

She noted that in several European countries and in Melbourne, there are already bans on the use of scooters, and in China, restrictions have been introduced. "We are witnessing cases where scooters on the sidewalk knock down pedestrians. Does the Ministry of Internal Affairs intend to introduce strict rules for their use?" Amanova asked.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktobyr Urmambetov reported that work is currently underway to regulate the movement of scooters and mopeds. "Once the amendments to the legislation are adopted, the city hall will begin to register scooters independently and control their use," he added.
