Donald Trump 'proclaimed' himself acting president of Venezuela
Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, made a statement that he is now the acting president of Venezuela. This message appeared on his account on the Truth Social platform.
In his post, Trump shared an image resembling a page from "Wikipedia," indicating that since January 2026, he has been serving as the president of the Bolivarian Republic. This screenshot also shows his actual position — the 47th president of the United States.

It is important to note that since January 4 of this year, Delcy Rodriguez has been the acting president of Venezuela by decision of the Supreme Court.

Additionally, explosions were heard in Caracas on the night of January 3. According to reports, during this time, the U.S. Air Force conducted an operation in which Nicolás Maduro and his wife were detained. Both were forcibly taken away and are now in one of the prisons in New York, according to Trump's statements.

Nicolás Maduro faces serious charges. In particular, he is accused of leading the criminal organization Cartel de los Soles, which has been designated a terrorist organization in the U.S. He is also implicated in conspiracy with Colombian drug cartels and various crimes related to cocaine trafficking.

Furthermore, the former president of Venezuela is accused of trafficking Venezuelan diplomatic passports and using diplomatic status to cover up drug trafficking, as well as enlisting criminal groups to eliminate his rivals.
