Venezuela has freed a significant number of political prisoners

Venezuela has released several high-profile opposition figures, activists, and journalists just a few days after the capture of Nicolás Maduro. This was reported by Euronews. The Caracas government characterized this step as a manifestation of a "desire for peace."
In an interview with Fox News, U.S. President Donald Trump praised the actions of the interim government led by Delcy Rodríguez, noting: "They did everything we asked for, and it was magnificent."

Jorge Rodríguez, Delcy's brother and chairman of the National Assembly of Venezuela, confirmed that a "significant number" of detainees will be released.

"This is a gesture aimed at peace from the Venezuelan government," he added.

It is worth reminding that on the night of January 3, explosions occurred in Caracas. As a result of a special operation by the U.S. Air Force, the government was captured, including former president Nicolás Maduro and his wife, who were forcibly taken out of the country. They are now in one of the prisons in New York.

Nicolás Maduro has been charged with leading the criminal organization Cartel de los Soles, which is recognized as a terrorist group in the U.S., as well as conspiracy with Colombian groups involved in the production and transportation of cocaine.

Additionally, he is accused of trafficking Venezuelan diplomatic passports, providing cover for drug trafficking, and using criminal gangs to eliminate competitors.
