The competition will take place in several nominations:
- "Prose" — includes novels, novellas, and collections of short stories;
- "Poetry" — includes poems and collections of poetry;
- "Journalism" — includes collections of articles and other journalistic works;
- "Children's and Young Adult Literature" — includes novels, novellas, short stories, and collections of poetry;
- "Literature on the Formation of Kyrgyz Statehood";
- "Literature on Culture and Art" — includes album-catalogs, photo albums, and other similar publications.
Authors aged 18 and over can participate in the competition. It is important that the submitted works have not been previously published.
A collection of the best works will be published under the auspices of the ministry.
Requirements for the works: Microsoft Word format (A4), Times New Roman font, size 14, line spacing — 1, total volume must not exceed 500 pages.
Applications for participation are accepted from February 16 to April 13, 2026. They must be sent through the district state administrations at the place of residence marked "For the competition '40 Districts – 40 Books'", as well as to the email address of the secretariat: [email protected].
