The competition includes several categories:
- "Prose" - for novels, novellas, and collections of short stories;
- "Poetry" - for poems and collections of poetry;
- "Journalism" - for collections of articles and journalistic works;
- "Children's and Youth Literature" - for short stories, novellas, and collections of poems;
- "Literature on the Formation of Kyrgyz Statehood";
- "Literature in the Field of Culture and Arts" - including album-catalogs and photo albums.
Participants must be authors who are at least 18 years old. It is important that the submitted works have not been previously published.
The Ministry will publish a collection of the best works submitted to the competition.
Requirements for the volume of works: documents must be in Microsoft Word format (A4), font - Times New Roman, size - 14, line spacing - 1, with a total volume of no more than 500 pages.
To participate, it is necessary to fill out an application and send it through the district state administrations from February 16 to April 13, 2026. The application must be marked "For the competition '40 Districts - 40 Books'" and sent to the email address of the secretariat: [email protected].
