A forum for computer science teachers was held in Bishkek

From January 23 to 24, a forum titled "Digital Skills: Lifelong Learning" took place in Bishkek, focused on enhancing digital literacy and the practical application of digital technologies in the educational process.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, more than 100 computer science teachers from various regions of the country, as well as representatives from the ministry, the World Bank, the Kyrgyz Academy of Education, educational institutions, and the IT sector participated in this event.

At the opening of the forum, Deputy Minister of Education Lira Samykbaeva emphasized that the development of digital competencies among teachers is one of the most important factors for the successful digitization of the education system. She also noted the global trend of transitioning the subject of computer science from traditional methods to the use of digital platforms and interactive materials, which allows for content updates and makes learning more practice-oriented and accessible for students.

During the forum, participants discussed how to effectively use digital platforms for managing the educational process and exchanged ideas on expanding their use in schools.

According to the Ministry of Education, the "Development of Digital Skills" project aimed to enhance digital competencies among both teachers and students in Kyrgyzstan. The pilot program covered 150 out of 1,200 schools involved in the "Education for the Future" project. During the implementation of the project, tools for assessing digital skills were developed, and workshops for teacher professional development were conducted.

Additionally, the forum presented the concept of the first online school "Tunguch," discussed the prospects of using artificial intelligence in education, and explored opportunities for creating new national educational platforms.
