According to the press service of the Cabinet, during the introductory program, Kasymaliev was informed about the key areas of the institute's research work, the projects under development, as well as the contributions of scientists to the study of the country's mineral resources and the development of geological science.
The head of the government toured the institute's library and unique exhibits housed in the museum, including dinosaur remains discovered within the republic. He also visited the working offices and laboratories.
The institute focuses on conducting both fundamental and applied research in areas such as regional geology, mineral resources, physical geography, geoecology, and engineering geology.
Kasymaliev emphasized the importance of scientific research in geology for the sustainable socio-economic progress of the country and noted that it is necessary to support both fundamental and applied science.
He also highlighted the need to strengthen the interaction between ministries and relevant scientific institutions to implement modern developments and innovative technologies, which will help improve the efficiency of addressing current challenges in the respective fields.
Additionally, special attention was given to issues related to the training of scientific personnel, material and technical support, and the future prospects for the development of the institute.
Following the visit, Kasymaliev issued a number of instructions to the relevant state bodies.
