The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic continues active measures to protect aquatic biological resources and improve the ecological situation in the Issyk-Kul region.
According to the ministry's information, in 2024, 57 raids were organized in the fight against the illegal use of synthetic nets, resulting in 38 fines totaling 130,000 soms, as well as 107 lawsuits amounting to 269,640 soms. During this work, 288 units of synthetic nets with a total length of 28,800 meters were confiscated. In 2025, efforts in this direction significantly increased, leading to 99 raids, during which 63 fines totaling 335,500 soms were imposed and 123 lawsuits amounting to 3,038,162 soms were filed. This year, 306 synthetic nets with a length of 30,600 meters were confiscated.

Significant attention is also paid to the identification and destruction of old and abandoned nets that cause considerable harm to the water body's ecosystem. In addition, the implementation of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic dated August 9, 2023, No. 177 "On the Restriction of the Circulation of Polymer Film Bags and Plastic Products" and the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 400-r continues. As part of these activities, 950 warnings were issued to entrepreneurs in the Issyk-Kul region.

Additionally, in accordance with the decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic dated April 26, 2022, No. 131 "On Urgent Measures to Preserve the Ecology of Lake Issyk-Kul," an inventory of recreational facilities was conducted, during which 1,267 facilities were identified in the region.
