On February 17, public hearings were held at the eco-technological plant in Bishkek, which processes municipal waste for electricity production. The event was organized by the eco-council and focused on issues related to improving air quality in the city.

The event was attended by the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, representatives of the city administration, deputies of the Bishkek City Council, and activists.

The mayor noted that last year, the eco-council set a goal to increase tree planting; initially, it was planned to plant 15,000 seedlings, but this figure has been increased to 18,000.

“We also conducted plantings in the territories of educational institutions and schools in the city. This year, we have ambitious plans — to plant 50,000 trees. Contracts have already been signed, and in mid-February we plan to bring seedlings to nurseries for acclimatization, after which they will be planted throughout the city,” Junushaliev reported.
