As part of its off-site meeting, the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on Science, Education, Innovative Development, and Information Technologies, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs reviewed the work of the National Academy of Sciences. The press service of the parliament reported that the meeting was attended by deputies: Gulsharkan Kultaev, Saltanat Amanova, Bolot Sagynaev, Seidbek Atambaev, and Erulan Kokulov, led by the committee chair Toktobubu Ashymbaeva.

The agenda included discussions on scientific research issues, as well as participation in state-funded scientific and technical projects. The President of the National Academy of Sciences, Kanatbek Abdrakhmatov, briefly presented the academy's activities.

Deputy Saltanat Amanova emphasized the need for the implementation of legislation in the field of science, specifically clarifying why a technical base had not been established at the National Academy of Sciences.
Gulsharkan Kultaev pointed out the unutilized funds allocated for the years 2023-2028 under the state order and called on scientists to participate more actively in large state projects.
In her opinion, scientific analysis should be an important aspect in the implementation of major projects in the areas of subsoil use and road construction to minimize risks.
Environmental issues in the Issyk-Kul region became a topic of discussion for Deputy Bolot Sagynaev, who highlighted the importance of studying the causes of the lake's shallowing.
Deputy Seidbek Atambaev also raised this issue, proposing to create a special commission to address it.

Toktobubu Ashymbaeva, the committee chair, drew attention to the importance of utilizing budget funds within the framework of state orders, adhering to the calendar plan, and the practical application of research results. During the meeting, issues regarding the purchase of modern equipment for the printing center and increasing salaries for scientific workers were also discussed.

Additionally, the deputies reviewed the condition of a two-story utility building belonging to the Kyrgyz National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet named after A. Maldybaev.
A meeting with theater employees, who oppose the transfer of the building to the Ministry of Finance, also took place, where the deputies listened to their arguments.

The Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, Mirbek Mambetaliev, noted that the building was commissioned in 1982 and has not been renovated since then.
He added that the cabinet of ministers intends to relocate the theater to a new modern building, with funding and land allocation issues already resolved.
