The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ambassador of France discussed Kyrgyzstan's participation in COP21 in Yerevan

On February 6, Almaz Musaev, serving as the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, held a meeting with Nicolas Fay, the Ambassador of France to Kyrgyzstan. This information was published by the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

During the conversation, the French side confirmed its readiness to support Kyrgyzstan at the upcoming COP21 conference, which will take place in 2026 in Yerevan, Armenia. They also offered assistance in organizing side events dedicated to biodiversity issues.

In addition, the possibilities for cooperation in the field of biodiversity conservation, protection of rare species, and the establishment of specially protected natural areas were discussed.

Musaev emphasized the current initiatives for biodiversity conservation, including the development of the National Strategy and Action Plan for Biodiversity Conservation (NBSAP), as well as the vulnerabilities of mountain ecosystems and glaciers in Kyrgyzstan in the context of climate change.
