Kyrgyzstan and France Strengthen Partnership in the Field of Ecology and Technical Supervision
On February 6 in Bishkek, a meeting took place between the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, Almaz Musaev, and the Ambassador of France to the country, Nicolas Fay. During the meeting, representatives of the French side expressed their readiness to support Kyrgyzstan's participation in COP21, scheduled for 2026 in Yerevan, and offered assistance in organizing side events related to biodiversity.
Possibilities for cooperation in the field of biodiversity conservation, protection of rare species, and preservation of specially protected natural areas were also discussed.
Almaz Musaev emphasized the ongoing work on biodiversity conservation, particularly the development of the National Strategy and Action Plan for its protection (NBSAP), and mentioned the high vulnerability of Kyrgyzstan's mountain ecosystems and glaciers in the face of climate change.
As a result of the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in further developing and strengthening the partnership.
