The smog problem in Bishkek persists, but the situation has improved, - speaker of the Parliament on air quality

At the parliamentary meeting on January 22, the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, reported that this winter season, Bishkek has demonstrated air quality indicators that correspond to the "green zone" several times.

According to him, based on daily measurements, the capital's air has transitioned into the green zone, and as he stated, "there is no smog, as usual." The city authorities conducted research to determine the causes of smog and its consequences, as well as implemented various methods to clean the urban atmosphere.

The speaker emphasized that although the smog problem still exists, progress has been made this year compared to previous winters.

He also added that it is important to acknowledge and appreciate the work of the city hall: "one must be able to recognize the good."
