Construction of mini-football fields has begun in the Botanical Garden on a site with rocky soil. This was reported on January 21 during a broadcast on "Birinchi Radio" by Nurbek Albanov, the deputy director of the Botanical Garden.

According to Albanov, the area of the Botanical Garden, located on Akhunbaev Street, is 127 hectares. The mini-football fields will be built near the entrance from this same street.

The deputy director noted that the decision to build was made jointly with the president and representatives of the National Academy of Sciences, and not just by the garden's administration.

He clarified that this is specifically about mini-football fields, not the creation of a full-fledged arena. There are no plans for heavy construction on the site — the fields will be located outdoors, and mesh fencing will be installed around them. The total area of the new fields will be approximately 15–16 hundredths of a hectare.

Albanov also explained that the choice of this site for the field is not accidental: the soil here is rocky, and for the past 20–30 years, it has not been possible to grow plants in this area due to the large number of stones in the soil.

According to him, when the Botanical Garden was established in 1962, part of the territory was also rocky, and soil was brought in to improve the conditions. However, the rocky layer in the area where construction is currently taking place has remained untouched.
