The number of pheasants is increasing at Issyk-Kul. About 1200 pheasants have been recorded in the Ak-Suu district.

In recent years, there has been a positive trend in the recovery of the pheasant population in the Issyk-Kul region, which had previously significantly decreased. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

According to representatives of the ministry, the winter period poses the greatest challenge for these birds. In conditions of reduced natural food, pheasants require additional support.

To assist the birds, employees of the Ak-Suu district department of the Ministry of Nature organized winter feeding in their habitats. This initiative has received support from local hunters.

In addition, measures are being taken against illegal hunting of pheasants. Specialists note that the main enemies of these birds are predators, and necessary activities are also being carried out in this direction.

According to the autumn count, about 1200 pheasants were recorded in the Ak-Suu district.
