A serious traffic accident occurred in the Issyk-Kul region, claiming the lives of six people. This was reported by the press service of the Main Department of Road Traffic Safety, informing the Kabar agency.
According to preliminary information, the tragedy unfolded on March 27 around 15:00 on the Balykchy – Ananyevo – Karakol highway. A "Mercedes-Benz E420" traveling from west to east attempted to avoid a collision with a "Volkswagen Passat," which came out from the left side, and veered into the oncoming lane, after which it collided with a "Renault Samsung SM6."
Unfortunately, the drivers of both vehicles — the "Mercedes-Benz E420" and the "Renault Samsung SM6" — died at the scene of the accident.
The agency also reported that information about the number of injured and deceased is currently being clarified.
The incident has been registered with the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Issyk-Kul region. Investigative actions are underway, and necessary examinations have been appointed.
According to information from the Ministry of Health, 11 people were injured as a result of the accident. Of these, six died, two were sent for outpatient treatment, and three were hospitalized.
“One of the three hospitalized is a 2-year-old child, who will be transferred to the National Center for Mother and Child Health in Bishkek. The other two patients are in critical condition in intensive care, they have undergone surgeries and are connected to artificial ventilation machines,” the ministry reported.
