“If Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz unconditionally within 48 hours from now, the U.S. will strike and destroy significant power plants in the country, starting with the largest!” — the president's message stated.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps quickly responded to this ultimatum.
In its statement, the IRGC warned: “If the enemy attacks Iran's oil and energy infrastructure, all energy, IT, and desalination facilities of the U.S. and its allies in the region will become targets.” This statement was made against the backdrop of rising tensions.
Since February 28, the U.S. and Israel have begun intensive missile strikes on Iran, resulting in the death of the country's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and about 40 high-profile military and government officials.
In response, Iran has targeted its strikes at the Gulf countries, where American military infrastructure facilities are located.
