According to the Jay County Prosecutor's Office in Indiana, the cause of the head-on collision was driver fatigue, speeding, and failure to maintain a safe distance. As a result of the accident, one person sustained serious injuries.
Beishkeyev has been charged, including under the article for "Manslaughter by negligence." At the time of the accident, his speed was 64 miles per hour, which exceeds the established limit by 9 miles. The truck driver ahead and Beishkeyev himself were not injured in the incident, as noted in reports.
