A fatal traffic accident involving a truck driver from Kyrgyzstan occurred in Indiana.
According to reports, Bekzhan Beishkeyev was driving on Highway 67 in Indiana when, according to preliminary information, he failed to stop for the slowing vehicles ahead. He crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a van carrying up to 15 passengers. As a result of this incident, four people died," the Department of Homeland Security reported.
According to ICE, Beishkeyev entered the country using the CBP One app and obtained a commercial driver's license in Pennsylvania. He was detained by Indiana state police and is currently in ICE custody in Fort Wayne, awaiting immigration proceedings.
ICE officials noted that the tragedy could have been prevented if commercial licenses had not been issued to someone who was in the country illegally.
"Bekzhan Beishkeyev was released by the Biden administration using the CBP One app and received a commercial license from Pennsylvania Governor Shapiro. These decisions led to the tragedy that claimed the lives of four innocent people in Indiana," said Assistant Secretary Trisha McLaughlin. "Operating trucks on American roads poses a danger for illegal immigrants, who are often unfamiliar with local traffic laws and language. Governors providing sanctuary to illegal immigrants must stop issuing them commercial driver's licenses to prevent further casualties."
According to ICE representatives, there has been a troubling trend recently: illegal immigrants with criminal backgrounds are operating commercial vehicles in the U.S., posing a threat to public safety and leading to tragic consequences.
