According to available information, the ex-deputy is suspected of corrupt activities and illegal enrichment. The day before, information about the property of the Kongantiev family and his connections with former GKNB head Kamchybek Tashiev appeared on social media.
It is noted that Kongantiev's closest associates have also been subjected to criminal prosecution. Official comments on this case are currently absent.
It is worth reminding that the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums previously reviewed Kuvanychbek Kongantiev's application for early resignation and decided to terminate his mandate.
Kongantiev was elected to parliament from single-mandate district No. 21, receiving 13,379 votes. In parliament, he was part of the deputy group "El ümütü Ata-Zhurt" and headed the committee dealing with issues of industrial policy, transport, the fuel and energy complex, architecture, and construction.
