According to the press service of the regional Internal Affairs Directorate, on February 25, information was registered at the Ak-Suu District Department of Internal Affairs regarding the pregnancy of a 16-year-old girl, born in 2009, the daughter of a resident of the village of Ak-Suu, M.A., born in 1985.
The information was entered into the Journal of Records of the Ak-Suu District Department of Internal Affairs, and a preliminary investigation was initiated. During the investigation, the minor was questioned; however, her mother, M.A., refused to participate in the investigative actions as her legal representative. Therefore, the questioning was conducted in the presence of an employee from the district department for the protection of family and children.
On the same day, around 21:00, M.A. reported that she was going to the store and then left the house. Preliminary data indicates that the woman committed self-immolation while in a state of deep emotional distress due to her daughter's pregnancy.
M.A. was urgently transported to the Issyk-Kul Regional Hospital, where, unfortunately, she died from her injuries.
In connection with the incident, a forensic medical examination has been appointed, and the preliminary investigation is ongoing.
