The Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region confirmed the information about the woman's death.
According to law enforcement agencies, on February 25, 2026, a report was received at the Ak-Suu district police department regarding the pregnancy of a 17-year-old girl, the daughter of local resident M.A., who was born in 2009 and was 16 weeks pregnant.
This fact was registered, and a preliminary investigation was initiated.
During the investigation, the authorities summoned the minor for questioning. However, her mother, M.A., refused to act as her legal representative, citing her severe psychological state, noting: "How can I look people in the eye now that my daughter is pregnant?!".
Therefore, the questioning of the 17-year-old girl was conducted with the participation of an employee from the Ak-Suu district family and children protection department.
On the same day, February 25, around 9:00 PM, M.A. left the house, saying she was going to buy drinks. However, overwhelmed by despair, she doused herself in gasoline and set herself on fire.
The woman was urgently taken to the Issyk-Kul regional united hospital, but despite the doctors' efforts, she died from her injuries.
A forensic medical examination has been appointed, and the fact of the woman's death has been registered with the Ak-Suu district police department. Necessary investigative actions are being conducted to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.
