A citizen named J.I. contacted the Lenin District Internal Affairs Department to report the theft of her mobile phone.
The incident occurred on February 5, 2026, around 5:30 PM, when the woman boarded bus No. 135 at the Osh market. Upon arriving at Lavanovsky Street, she discovered that her iPhone 16 Pro was missing.
A criminal case was initiated regarding this incident under Article 205 ("Theft") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a result of operational work by law enforcement, a suspect named A.A. was detained, who had previously had legal issues and was registered as a pickpocket. He was transferred to the investigative department of the Lenin District and placed in a temporary detention facility in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Lenin District Court decided to keep the suspect in custody for two months in the pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Bishkek.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the previously stolen phone had been sold at the Osh market. During searches conducted at the sales location, the police seized more than 60 mobile phones, including the victim's phone.
"Be cautious in public places, at markets, on public transport, and in crowds. Do not leave money, mobile devices, and other valuables unattended. In case of suspicious situations, immediately contact the nearest police station or call the 24-hour hotline at 102," the law enforcement authorities urge.
