In the Batken region, a citizen has been detained for the illegal collection of ferula seeds.

According to the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, employees of the Department of Specially Protected Natural Areas and Biodiversity of the Batken Regional Administration, during joint operational activities with law enforcement agencies, discovered the illegal transportation of seeds of the wild-growing ferula foetida ("sasyk chaiyr"). An administrative fine of 10,000 soms has been imposed on the offender in accordance with Article 264 ("Violation of the procedure for the procurement and sale of raw materials from wild-growing plants and/or their parts and products") of the Code of Offenses.

A claim for damage to the plant world in the amount of 500,000 soms has been filed based on the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic Resolution No. 224 dated May 3, 2013.

The Environmental Supervision Service reminded that the illegal collection and sale of seeds from wild-growing plants cause serious harm to nature. Such actions lead to a reduction in biological diversity and disrupt the stability of ecosystems. The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision urges citizens to refrain from the illegal use of natural resources and to strictly comply with environmental legislation.
