Environmental raids in Osh revealed illegal hunting cases amounting to 68,000 soms in fines

In Osh, numerous cases of poaching have been identified, leading to fines totaling 68,000 soms, as reported by the press service of the southern branch of NABU Kyrgyzstan.

According to the information, during the holiday period, NABU Kyrgyzstan employees, together with representatives of state environmental services, conducted a series of raids, during which violations of hunting regulations and instances of illegal hunting were discovered, resulting in the imposition of fines.

The initial raids took place in the Kara-Suu and Aravan districts of the Osh region. In one area, in the Kumböz rural district of Papan, it was found that three individuals were illegally keeping seven saiga antelopes in a cage. Each violator was fined 10,000 soms, totaling 30,000 soms. Since the condition of the animals was satisfactory, they were decided to be released into the wild.

In the next raid, which covered the Kara-Suu, Alaï, and Uzgen districts, three individuals were identified for violating amateur fishing rules. Each of them was fined 1,000 soms, amounting to a total of 3,000 soms. In the same raid in the Alaï district at the Kapchigay site, a citizen was caught using traps for hunting and had caught three black grouse. He was fined 10,000 soms and faced damages amounting to 6,000 soms.

Additionally, during a raid in the Uzgen district on the Jazy River, a citizen was detained for violating amateur fishing rules and received a fine of 1,000 soms. Also, on the same river, another violator was found using a prohibited tool—a "screen" made of synthetic netting, for which he was fined 5,500 soms.

In the Kara-Kulja district, at the Ylai-Talaa site, a case of hunting rule violation was also identified, resulting in a fine of 12,500 soms for the citizen.

In total, the fines for violations of hunting laws amounted to 68,000 soms.

The raids aimed at protecting the environment were conducted in cooperation with employees of the Osh regional office of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, as well as representatives from the department of specially protected natural areas and biodiversity.
