Azhiev was serving his sentence after being convicted in 2024 to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. The Pervomaisky District Court found him guilty on several articles of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, including Article 160 Part 1 ("Organization or maintenance of brothels for prostitution or pimping for debauchery or prostitution"), Article 161 ("Distribution of pornographic materials"), Article 261 Part 1 ("Creation of an organized group or participation in it"), and Article 215 Part 3 ("Causing property damage by deception or abuse of trust").
Additionally, he was deprived of the right to engage in entrepreneurial activities for a period of two years, with the serving of his sentence in a general regime correctional colony and a fine of 220,000 soms imposed.
