According to information provided by the press service of the First May District Police Department, a suspect in the theft of a car was detained in Bishkek. The vehicle has already been returned to its lawful owner.
A citizen named D.B. filed a report with the police on October 9, 2025, stating that on October 5, 2025, around 6:00 PM, he left his "KIA PIKANTO" car in the yard on Togolok-Moldo Street and then went to Karakol. Upon returning home on October 9, he discovered that the car was missing.
A criminal case was initiated regarding this incident under Article 211 (theft) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a result of operational-search activities, a 39-year-old citizen, Zh.B., was detained. He has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
During the further investigation, it was revealed that the suspect, having unlawfully taken possession of the vehicle, sold it for 80,000 soms and spent the money on his needs.
The car has now been found and included in the criminal case as physical evidence. The police continue operational-search activities to identify other individuals involved in this crime and are also checking for any possible connections between the detainee and other similar cases.
