Corruption scandal in Ukraine. Former Minister of Energy attempted to leave the country
German Galushchenko, who previously held the position of Minister of Energy of Ukraine, was detained on February 15 during the night while attempting to leave the country. According to the press, this occurred as a result of actions taken by the employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

According to information, the former minister was removed from a train because border guards received a notification from NABU and SAP about his intention to cross the border.

Galushchenko served as Minister of Energy from 2021 until July 2025, after which he was appointed Minister of Justice. In November of last year, amid a corruption scandal involving businessman Timur Mindich, the Verkhovna Rada decided to dismiss Galushchenko and then-Minister of Energy Svitlana Hrynchuk. They were suspected of involvement in corrupt schemes at "Energoatom".

The detention of German Galushchenko took place against the backdrop of an investigation that revealed he may have benefited from Mindich's patronage before President Zelensky. Anti-corruption agencies confirmed the connection between the detention and the Mindich case.

Rada deputies reported that the former minister has already been charged in connection with this case.

NABU continues to investigate corruption schemes involving high-ranking officials, including the state concern "Energoatom". The investigation believes that these schemes were organized by Timur Mindich, who is accused of extorting "kickbacks" for contracts and leveraging close ties with the president.

On November 28, 2025, Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the dismissal of the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak.
